The challenge
The NFT market was moving fast, but buying and trading NFTs was still hard for mainstream mobile users. Showcase wanted a simpler creator-fan experience built around badges, social support, and a token-powered marketplace. The founders had deep crypto experience but needed a team to turn the idea into a usable product. The challenge was product uncertainty as much as engineering scope: payments, mobile UX, creator groups, bundles, and trading mechanics all had to be shaped while the category itself was still forming.
Why Showcase chose Rollout IT
Showcase did not need a narrow team-extension vendor. Rollout IT supplied a project team, two developers, a backend specialist, project management, and product-ownership support, giving the founders product thinking and technical execution at once, which is what an emerging category demands.
The solution
We helped build a React Native mobile app backed by a serverless Node.js backend, a GraphQL API with Apollo, and TypeScript across the stack. React Native enabled parallel iOS and Android development and testing, which matters for a mobile-first marketplace. The team worked in two-week sprints using GitHub Issues, GitHub Actions, and Miro, contributing not only to implementation but to product discovery: audience personas, user-group segmentation, and the evolution of core marketplace features.
The app supported badge creation, creator-fan interaction, artist groups, bundles, and user-to-user trading, plus a social-impact layer where a share of badge sales could support a cause chosen by the artist. As a product partner rather than a code shop, Rollout IT helped shape what to build, not just how to build it, which is the difference between shipping features and shipping a product.
Results
- Showcase moved from a founder-led concept toward a working mobile marketplace.
- The product gained cross-platform mobile delivery without separate native teams.
- The founders gained a partner that could shape features and execute the build.
